The History Of Tin City Florida

When you call a location ‘Tin City’, there must be a reason, right!?

Correct!

Don’t worry, you won’t find a bunch of tin cans lying around the place!

To find out why it’s called Tin City, we need to take a trip down memory lane. Back in the 1920s, Tin City was a hotspot for boat building. This was because of the Seaboard Airline Railroad, which was key in the transportation of timber and other materials.

Many of the buildings were (and still are!) made with tin roofs; hence the name.

Nowadays, Tin City is a popular shopping district in Naples.

How times have changed, huh!?
