Every month for more than ten years, there are Art and Music Walks that make the art scene diverse and lively. There is always a great number of things to do in Fort Myers that are happening for real.

As soon as you get to Fort Myers you can tell it’s going to be a great day. The weather is sunny and there is a lot of nature to enjoy. You can eat delicious fresh seafood and tropical fruits. Plus there are many different things to discover from different cultures.

However you decide to spend your day then there are a lot of ways to have a good time with your family and friends. So let’s start with me because in this article we will explore the top things to do in Fort Myers that ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.

Fort Myers & Sanibel beaches are really good for finding seashells and best in all of North America. Fort Myers even has a special day called National Seashell Day. Just walk down the beach and you will see a lot of pretty seashells.

You found some of the best shells on Cayo Costa where not many people go. But you can find nice shells on almost all the beaches. Best time to find shells is when the tide is low, which happens every day and in the winter. It’s even better because of the winds.

The boat ride is really pretty and when you get to Cayo Costa. Then you can spend the day walking on the beaches, looking for seashells, snorkeling and more.

If you want a really special night then think about camping on Cayo Costa. You have to book a place ahead of time but it would be an amazing place to spend the night.

6. Check Out a Fort Myers Brewery

Fort Myers is getting more popular for its craft beer. When you went to Fort Myers Brewing Company for a tour of the brewery and tried a few different kinds of beer.

Trust me you really like their collection and their atmosphere. Their top picks were the chocolate stout that won an award and the chocolate peanut butter porter.

Cabbage Key is a cool place to have lunch especially if you are spending the whole day on a boat. Captiva Cruises has lunch trips to Cabbage Key that include a one hour guided boat ride there and two hours to have lunch and explore the island.

People say that Jimmy Buffet got the idea for his famous song “Cheeseburger in Paradise” when he visited this island. We also really liked the cheeseburgers at Cabbage Key. They are a big hit.

Go to Sanibel Island and check out the Bailey Matthews National Shell Museum. It is the only museum in the United States that focuses only on shells and mollusks. They have fantastic exhibits with both live animals and shells.
