At long last, it’s time for your beach vacation to Marco Island! But now that your trip is fast approaching, you realize you need to get planning if you’re going to make the most of your time in the area. You know that there are plenty of fun things to do in Tigertail Beach and you don’t want to miss any of them.

If you want to be sure you’re able to make the absolute most of your vacation, you’re in the right place! In this post, we’ll discuss things to do in Tigertail Beach, Florida, one of the two public beaches located on the island.

So, ready to dive in? Then let’s get to it!

Things to Do in Tigertail Beach, Florida

There’s no shortage of fun at Tigertail Beach. Below we outline those things you won’t want to miss during your visit.

Head to the Beach

Of course, there’s no better thing to do in Tigertail Beach than to spend the day enjoying popular beach activities. Try your hand at finding treasures that have washed ashore with some Tigertail Beach shelling — maybe you’ll even find a shark tooth (or two!).

Wondering how to walk to Tigertail Beach (the part straight on the Gulf)? You might consider heading out into the lagoon. If you look at a Tigertail Beach Florida map, you’ll see why. A small lagoon lies between two shorelines of the beach.

Because you have to walk into fairly deep (up to chest high) water to get across the lagoon, the other side is much less busy. This provides visitors the chance to get away from the crowds and enjoy the more natural landscape of the area. Tigertail Beach also has an incredible birdwatching tower that provides a wonderful view of the lagoon and natural areas of the park.

And there’s no need to fear Tigertail Beach lagoon alligators. While you should always keep your eyes peeled for these reptiles in Florida, Tigertail Beach is heavily trafficked, making it less likely for any of these enormous reptiles to want to camp out in the area. Additionally, the Tigertail Beach lagoon is full of saltwater from the Gulf, making it less likely for alligators to want to visit

Take Advantage of the Park’s Amenities

During your visit to the park, you’ll also want to be sure to take advantage of its great amenities. On the off chance your kiddos haven’t gotten all their energy out at the beach, you can take them to the playground to enjoy running around.

Your day of activity will surely cause you and your family to work up an appetite, as well. Fortunately, you can purchase snacks at the concession stand, including beer and wine. After grabbing some food, you can head back to the beach to enjoy a seaside meal, or over to the park’s picnic area if you prefer to eat at a table.

Enjoy Some Watersports

When you visit Tigertail Beach, you might also consider ways to get farther out on the water than a simple swim can take you. Fortunately, you can rent a variety of watercraft to help you do just that. This includes:

  • Jet ski rentals
  • Paddleboard rentals
  • Kayaks and other rentals

Of course, if you prefer to get some exercise from swimming, you can do that too! Tigertail Beach provides great swimming opportunities with clear, warm waters and clean sands.
